About Us
Random Acts of Cardness (RAOC) is a group of greeting card senders, called Card Warriors, who are dedicated to spreading love and joy around the world one greeting card at a time.
As of January 2024, we have over 8,100 members (and rapidly growing) and have sent to all 50 states, plus 37+ countries around the world!
We look forward to continuing to grow and spread kindness in even more countries throughout the years!
Our Story
When our creator, Megan Evans, was 21 years old, she volunteered with a group of people to cook a meal for the residents staying at the Ronald McDonald House near her. She enjoyed sitting with the families and hearing their stories. The seemingly simple act of making a meal was invaluable to them during the most difficult time a parent can ever face. These conversations and their appreciation showed her the incredible value of small acts of kindness and inspired her to do more.
She set out to pull people in her community together to send postcards to children in the hospital and after that small project was done, she wanted to do even more.
In 2015, Megan, who herself was in recovery from a traumatic brain injury found greeting cards and pen pals to be a much needed outlet for her. However, it was hard to find a place that would send to her since she was out of the age bracket for most groups at the time.
She created Random Acts of Cardness with the vision of sending love to anyone and everyone who needs it. You don't have to be ill to receive cards. This group isn't just for children or the elderly. This group is for everyone. Everyone can use a little Random Act of Cardness to bring a little bit of light to their day!
What was set to be a one-time project of a couple dozen cards being sent to children in the hospital turned into over 7 years of countless cards, smiles, and a group that is now over 5,200 members!

Our group launched on June 5th, 2015.

We reached 3,000 members on May 22nd, 2021 and soared to 4,000 members by November 6th, 2021! As of September 2022, we are now 5,000 members strong!

We have sent to people from newborn all the way to age 114!

We have mini exchanges for fun holidays such as Do Something Nice Day and National Tell a Joke Day!

Countries we have sent to include Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, Sri Lanka, Estonia, Malta, and many, many more!

We sent over 700 cards to a group of military members who were deployed for COVID relief!

Kindness is truly at the core of everything we do. Our goal is to make the world a little bit kinder and a little bit brighter than it was yesterday.

We serve all ages, gender identities, races, religions, and walks of life. Everyone is welcome to receive smiles from us in their mailbox.

Accessibility
We wholeheartedly believe in making the art of snail mail accessible to everyone regardless of budget or physical ability. We fully encourage typed cards, cards created from folded printer paper, and all other ways to make mail accessible for all.
