Random Acts of Cardness Day

Let’s make the world a little brighter than it was yesterday!

We invite everyone around the world to celebrate Random Acts of Cardness Day with us each year on June 5th by sending a greeting card to brighten someone’s day!

 FAQs

  • Random Acts of Cardness Day is a yearly challenge for everyone to send a greeting card in order to make the world a little bit kinder and brighter than it was yesterday.

  • June 5th is the anniversary of the creation of the Random Acts of Cardness Facebook group which was launched on June 5th, 2015.

  • You can participate by sending or hand delivering just one greeting card to any other human on June 5th!

  • The Official Random Acts of Cardness Facebook Group is a great place to start. We have many lists you can choose from including birthdays, anniversaries, and general cheer mail for children and adults. Other places to find people to send to are Instagram and Postcrossing.

You can also give a note to someone in person including your partner, your child, your postal worker, your favorite cashier, and anyone you can think of!

  • You can send a greeting card (store-bought or handmade), postcard, note card, and anything else you’d like. If it’s paper and can be put in an envelope, I say go for it! Random Acts of Cardness Day will look different for everyone and that’s part of the beauty!

  • If you are unable to send a card through postal mail, you are welcome to hand-deliver or drop one off to someone in person (please put your health and safety first!). If you are able to send through postal mail, but can’t purchase a store-bought card, I encourage you to make your own out of folded printer paper or anything else you have around your house. I hope to see as many people participating as possible and don’t want budgets to hold anyone back! Every single card sent is another smile out there in the world.

  • Absolutely not! Typing cards or stamping a sentiment inside your card can be much easier for those with disabilities or time restraints. It doesn’t make cards any less personal if they are typed, it just makes them more accessible to those who need it.

  • While not required, I would love for all participants to use #RAOCDay when sharing photos of their outgoing mail on social media.

We also use #randomactsofcardness for posts throughout the year if you would like to include that as well!
